Editorial Policy

Last updated: April 22, 2026

HRT.so is an independent research and comparison platform for hormone therapy treatments and providers. This page explains how our editorial team works, how we evaluate providers and treatments, and how we maintain independence despite operating an affiliate-supported business model.

Our Mission

We exist to make hormone therapy information clearer, more accessible, and more trustworthy. Millions of people seek care for conditions like low testosterone, menopause, gender dysphoria, thyroid disease, and metabolic disorders — yet reliable, unbiased information is difficult to find. Our goal is to close that gap with evidence-based content and honest provider comparisons.

Editorial Independence

HRT.so participates in affiliate marketing programs and may earn a commission when you visit or sign up with a provider through our site. This revenue funds our platform and allows us to offer free content to users.

Our commercial relationships do not influence editorial decisions. Provider rankings, treatment evaluations, and written content are determined solely by our editorial team based on objective research criteria. Providers cannot pay to improve their ranking or alter their review. Any provider can appear on our platform regardless of whether an affiliate relationship exists.

How We Evaluate Providers

Provider listings and rankings are based on a consistent set of criteria applied across all categories:

  • Clinical quality — board-certified physicians, evidence-based protocols, lab monitoring requirements
  • Transparency — clear pricing, honest descriptions of compounded vs. FDA-approved medications
  • Accessibility — telehealth availability, state coverage, turnaround time
  • Patient experience — support responsiveness, prescription fulfillment reliability, onboarding clarity
  • Safety standards — compounding pharmacy accreditation (PCAB), proper informed consent processes

Rankings are reviewed periodically and updated when providers change their offerings, pricing, or practices.

How We Write Treatment Content

Treatment guides and category overviews are written by our editorial team and reviewed against peer-reviewed clinical literature, prescribing guidelines from relevant medical societies, and established safety data. We cite the basis for factual claims and flag areas of clinical uncertainty or ongoing debate.

We do not write promotional content for specific providers or treatments. Content that discusses a product by name does so in the context of objective comparison, not endorsement.

Medical Disclaimer

All content on HRT.so is for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting, stopping, or modifying any hormone therapy protocol.

Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously. If you believe any content on HRT.so contains a factual error, please contact us at hello@hrt.so. We review all correction requests and update content promptly when an error is confirmed.

FDA Notice on Compounded Medications

Many providers featured on HRT.so offer compounded medications. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness, or quality of compounded drugs. We disclose the compounded status of medications throughout our content and encourage readers to discuss the risks and benefits with their healthcare provider.
